A modular, pre-engineered system design provides greater value, faster pricing, proven engineering, and a more direct path to production. A fully custom build offers nearly unlimited design freedom, but requires more design work, engineering, estimating, and CNC programming, which increases both cost and project time.
Modular pre-engineered design: COVER Timberworks standard models provide a proven starting point while still allowing substantial customization. Clients can select the size, timber package, color, braces, rafter tails, roof configuration, and other architectural details. Because the structural design and CNC saw programming are already established, estimates can be prepared quickly, and production can begin soon after the selections and drawings are approved.
Fully custom build: A custom structure begins with a new concept rather than an established model. It requires original design development, structural engineering, pricing, production planning, and custom CNC saw instructions before fabrication can begin. This provides greater freedom to create a truly one of a kind structure, but adds complexity, time, and cost.
A fully custom design can make sense for wedding venues, resorts, commercial properties, and other projects where a signature architectural statement justifies the added investment. For most residential pergolas and pavilions, customizing one of our modular designs delivers the best balance of individuality, quality, efficiency, and overall value.
